You will hear which Saturday you can start. Sometimes there is a waiting list.

4 free lessons
Come 30 minutes early; a coach helps you into the gear. You rent skates at De Meent.
Step 5
You decide
Enjoyed it? Then you sign up for the season. 93% carry on.
What you need
Mostly motivation. We will teach you the rest.
Ice hockey skates
No speed or figure skates. Available to rent at De Meent.
Long thermal clothing
A tracksuit or long pyjamas will do too.
Protective gear
On loan during the trial lessons. Under 18 you can rent it afterwards: one year maximum, €100 plus a €50 deposit, excluding skates, stick and neck guard.
Water bottle
For a drink in between.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. The Academy starts with skating and stopping. The only thing you need is the will to learn.
You will fall and get up, but you are well protected with a helmet, gloves and knee, shin and elbow pads.
Sometimes. Sign up for the trial lessons and you will hear when you can start.
Yes. Adults can borrow gear during the trial lessons. After that you buy your own.
The Academy costs €400 per season (1 September to 1 July), which is €40 per month. Paying in instalments is possible, as is paying with a municipal pass or through the Youth Sports Fund.
That differs per player. The coaches regularly assess who can move up to a weekday team practice.

Choose how often and how seriously you want to play again. You can start small and move up later.

One hour of real hockey a week, without a league.

Practise once a week with Seniors 1. You do not play games.

Competition team
Two practices a week and games in the Ice Hockey Netherlands league.

The season runs from 1 September to 30 June. If you start as a training member or at Pond Hockey and want to play games later, you move up to the competition team.
